In sacred geometry, Metatron's Cube is believed to contain every shape on the face of the earth. The cube was named from Archangel Metatron, and the Flower of Life inspires the structure. The symbol is very common in Christianity, Jewish, and Islamic religions.

At first glance, the Metatron cube seems like a complex geometric figure. Perhaps this is why it captures viewers’ attention so quickly, and people have been intrigued to study it for centuries.

Do you want to know about this mystical figure and its influence on different cultures? Here is a detailed overview of the Metatron cube.

Metatron’s Cube And The Five Platonic Solids

One of the reasons people are so curious to study Metatron’s Cube is because it contains five sacred patterns called platonic solids or cubes.

These five key patterns are- Hexahedron, Tetrahedron, Octahedron, Icosahedron, and Dodecahedron.

These five figures are recognized as the building blocks of the universe. They make up all matter and hold the most power.

Platonic solid got its name from the Greek philosopher Plato. People regarded these five platonic solids as perfect because each of them had an equal face size, equal side length, and equal-sized angles.

Each pattern has special significance since they are the primitive base and building blocks of all other geometric figures. Let’s look closely at the symbolisms associated with the five Platonic solids.

This complex design of the Metatron Cube is filled with a lot of symbolism.

Hexahedron – Earth

The Hexahedron looks like a cube with straight lines, representing the earth element. The figure sits firm and flat, similar to the earth, and it is related to the qualities of solidity, just like our globe.

Star Tetrahedron – Fire

The following figure of the five elements, the Star Tetrahedron, stands for the fire element. Star Tetrahedron is made up of two triangular pyramids or Tetrahedrons.

The star-shaped tetrahedron represents the sharp or dangerous heat of the fire, and the other uniform triangle represents balance, uniformity, harmony, and stability.

Octahedron – Air

The Octahedron is made up of eight equilateral triangles. The Octahedron represents the air element because its eight triangles are well structured and as smooth as the air.

Icosahedron – Water

With twenty triangles, Icosahedron has the highest number of faces. The well-balanced figure represents the water element because, just like water, the shapes keep flowing.

Dodecahedron – Ether

The last cube in the Metatron cube is Dodecahedron. It represents the fifth and the most important element of heaven, earth, and the universe, Ether. Ether combines the other four elements (earth, air, fire, and water) and completes the universe.

In ancient studies, these five elements occupied a superior position because of their supreme power of creation.

What is Metatron’s Cube?

Metatron’s cube is a complicated geometric shape made from thirteen circles. These circles are equal in size, and lines from the center of each circle extend to the center of the twelve other circles.

In 3D form, the Metatron cube looks similar to the figure of Merkaba, a 3D shape made by two intersecting pyramids.

The Metatron cube looks very similar to the fruit of life, which is associated with the flower of life, a powerful sacred geometrical symbol.

The Archangel Metatron’s cube first appeared in the Talmud and Kabbalah texts of Judaism. Jewish people believed that the cube symbol was their guardian or an angel. According to popular belief, the angel created the soul out of its heart.

Metatron cube’s shape represents all other geometric patterns found all over. People believed that this sacred geometry symbol represents God and is associated with the idea that God is the center of the universe and everything is related to him.

Metatron’s cube is also associated with the birth of the universe. And everything we see in this world- galaxies, stars, planets, humans, plants, atoms, etc., all sprang from the same element.

Who Was Archangel Metatron?

Angel Metatron was the greatest legend in Jewish myth. He was an angelic figure, and his name was mentioned in Rabbinic literature, the Kabbalistic texts, the Talmud, and the Aggadah.

People regarded him as the angel of the presence of the Archangel. He was also seen as God’s mediator with men. People considered him the celestial figure keeping records of men’s virtues and sins and the heavenly secrets.

What Is Sacred Geometry?

Sacred geometry has existed since ancient times, and these geometric symbols had magical powers.

The word geometry comes from two ancient Greek words- Geos and metron. The former means the earth, and the latter means to measure, respectively.

Therefore, geometry means studying shapes and structures found naturally on the earth.

While the study of geometry was common among the general people of old civilizations, sacred geometry was limited to saints or priests who tried learning the mystical secrets and negative and positive energies associated with these symbols. This is why this branch of study is called sacred geometry.
